Mgahinga National Park

This small park, covering just 38 sq km, enjoys a magnificent setting on the northern slopes of the Virunga volcanoes. Two rare primates Mountain Gorillas and Golden monkeys can be tracked and one can climb the dormant volcanoes to stand simultaneously on the border of Uganda, Rwanda and the DRC. This park offers a unique Batwa forest experience, including discovery of a cave and traditional home of the Batwa King, complimented by cultural dances in the cave.

Man’s closest relative the chimpanzee is also found in Uganda. These chimpanzee communities have been habituated for tourism at the Kabale Forest, Budongo forest and Queen Elizabeth National Park. A community of orphan chimps can be visited on Ngamba Island which lies on Lake Victoria.
